Storm Preparedness Information

With the continuation of this year’s March miracle and strong storms forecast through Tuesday, additional releases are being made from local lakes and reservoirs to accommodate run-off and snow melt.  These releases are already resulting in visibly higher rivers and elevated river gauges.  Some gauges may reach and go above the “Monitor Stage”.  Residents are advised that the “Monitor Stage” is not unusual in these conditions and is well below the “Flood Stage”.

Still, the Yolo County Office of Emergency Services encourages residents to take caution with increased precipitation, rising rivers and streams, high winds and localized flooding.  Public works crews throughout Yolo County are on standby to handle storm related problems.  Motorists are advised to avoid flooded streets and to be on the lookout for debris on the roads resulting from strong winds and run off.
