Deserved fanfare for one who quietly does her job

Through the years, Washington Unified School District Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Pam Geivett, has worked for (counting ‘Interims’) six superintendents.

On March 7, Geivett received an “Individual Excellence in Education Award” award from the Yolo County School Board Association in the “Confidential Employee” category.

WUSD school board trustee Teresa Blackmer, in presenting Geivett with her award, said, “Pam Geivett began her career with the Washington Unified School District nearly 20 years ago... Her experience at both the school site level and in the district office attest to her solid understanding of all district operations and distinguishes her as the ‘go-to person’ for employees and parents in our community.”

Geivett says, “I love my job.  I've been a secretary since I graduated from high school. I was a legal secretary/office manager for many years prior to coming to Washington Unified.

Free real estate mobile app launched

Cheri Elliott, one of America’s most legendary cyclist and locally well known as “The Broker on a Bike,” announced the launch of her free real estate mobile app.

The app uses GPS, when available, to locate the user and instantly display real estate listings in the immediate area. No more having to pull flyers.  You can see and save all the listings details and photos on the spot. Users can also search by address, city or zip code to see property details for all homes for sale in a specified area, including price, square footage, estimated mortgage, taxes, features, maps, pictures and more. The “Refine Search” feature lets users select a price range, property type and the number of beds and baths to help them find just what they’re looking for.

It works on standard cell phones, smartphones, and iPhones/iPads across all mobile carriers.   Cheri explains, “This tool is extremely powerful.
