Midtown Business Association Announces Chef Demo Schedule for Midtown Farmers Market!

Midtown Business Association Announces Chef Demo Schedule for Midtown Farmers Market!

Recently re-launched for a fresh new season and highlighted as one of 2015’s top farmers’ markets in the region by Sactown magazine, the Midtown Business Association is pleased to announce the chef cooking demonstration schedule for the thriving and unique Midtown Farmers Market.  While the always-popular chef cooking demos are offered on the first Saturday each month, the Midtown Farmers market is available year-round on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the heart of Sacramento on 20th Street between J and K.

As a special treat on the first Saturday of each month, a number of Midtown’s talented chefs participate in lively, interactive and fun cooking demonstrations that happen at 11 a.m. in the center of the Market.  Each month, the spotlighted chef selects a new and different dish to demonstrate that incorporates a variety of the seasonal, farm-fresh items obtained at the Midtown Farmers Market.

Community Business Bank's ‘Casual Fridays' Results in Generous Donations to Local Food Banks

Community Business Bank's ‘Casual Fridays' Results in Generous Donations to Local Food Banks

Community Business Bank employees are busy collecting thousands of pounds of food to donate to local food banks as part of a year-round giving campaign called "Food Bank Fridays." The campaign started a few years ago when Community Business Bank employees requested permission to dress casually on Fridays.  While management could have simply allowed jeans to be worn at work, the request for “casual Fridays” turned into a light bulb moment.

“Our management team and the bank’s Community Foundation Committee agreed to the idea with one stipulation: Employees can dress casually on Fridays as long as they bring in at least one item to benefit local food banks,” said John DiMichele, CEO, Community Business Bank.
