West Sacramento to get its own Squeeze Inn starting Tuesday

West Sacramento to get its own Squeeze Inn starting Tuesday

Starting Tuesday you'll be able to get a "Squeeze with Cheese" when the latest Squeeze Inn location opens on Harbor Boulevard.

This will be the fourth location for the popular burger restaurant chain which was made famous on the Food Network with its burger covered in a gooey cheese skirt.

Some first-timers are often not sure where to start.

"I don't even know how to eat it," said one newcomer when first confronted with the cheeseburger.

The West Sacramento location is the largest of the Squeeze Inns. The original location in Sacramento was just a few hundred square feet. It closed and reopened in a new, somewhat larger location. The other Squeeze Inns are in Sacramento, Roseville and Galt.

Mother's Day treat: Homemade scones

I have never been a big fan of scones.  They have always been a bit dry for my taste.  That all changed thanks to Barbara Bowers of Rose Mountain Manor in Colfax, CA.  Barbara and her wonderful recipe were featued on News10 Midday and News10.net back in October of 2002.  From that point on, this recipe has been a staple for special events and just because.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/3 cups Bisquick
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 6 tabelspoons softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup fruit*

Directions

Blend Bisquick and sugar. Cut in butter to form a crumbly mixture.  Beat eggs and milk together and add to dry mix.  Stir with a fork until just mixed (do not overmix).  Drop into four piles onto a baking sheet.  Cut into four pieces each with about one-eight inch between.  Sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 400 degrees for

Squeeze Inn opening next Tuesday in West Sacramento

West Sacramento is growing and residents and city leaders are very excited about the fact that Squeeze Inn will be the newest addition to its dining scene. Food Network’s Guy Fieri made Squeeze Inn famous when he raved about the infamous cheese “skirt” on “Diners Drive-Ins or Dives”. The “skirt” is Squeeze Inn’s twist on the classic cheeseburger.  Squeeze Inn is now the talk of the town in West Sacramento, the site of its newest location. Squeeze Inn will celebrate its grand opening at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 1350 Harbor Blvd.
