To the delight of children, rail fans and baseball enthusiasts of all ages, it’s all aboard for a special story time with the popular Sacramento River Cats Mascot “Dinger” and his partner “Mike on the Mic” on Monday, May 2, 2016. Beginning at 11 a.m., Mike on the Mic will read the illustrated children’s book Players in Pigtails by Shana Corey and Zachary’s Ball by Matt Tavares while Dinger listens in attentively along with the children. Afterward, the duo will pose for pictures and greet Story Time participants. Through this interactive and fun program, parents are encouraged to let trains and railroading introduce and foster the love of reading with their imaginative young children ages two to five.
