Instead of a simple hello, it turns out a common salutation was once "what cheer, partner?" And now, office rental space has become available in the historic What Cheer House in Old Sacramento located at the corner of Front & K Streets.  Originally built in 1852 then later reconstructed after a devastating fire, Old Sacramento’s iconic What Cheer House – a California Historical Landmark -- will be open for public viewing next Tuesday, June 27, from 11:30 to 1 p.m. With incredible views of the Sacramento River, the beautiful 5,000 square foot office space on the third floor includes a conference room and European kitchen.  This is the first time the office space has become available for rent since the building’s reconstruction in 1977. What Cheer House -- a historic building that houses Stage Nine Entertainment Store, G.Willikers Toy Emporium, The Vault, California Clothiers, and the Old Fashioned Candy a

Automobile Museum celebrates dads with free admission & free rides in classic cars

Complete with free museum admission and free rides in classic cars for dads and grandpas, the California Automobile Museum is getting revved up to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, June 18! 

In addition to a number of eye-catching exhibits – including the limited time To the Rescue: The Fire Trucks and People that Saved Our Cities – a number of classic cars will be on special display for this one-day-only. As a highlight, friendly volunteer drivers are offering FREE rides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the marina and back for interested fathers and grandfathers as well as their families. Donations are welcome to support the Museum’s education program. Take a ride and plan a stop with dad on Father’s Day at the California Automobile Museum!

Automobile Museum celebrates Memorial Day with Vettes & Vets and American Muscle Car Show

Hit the road to the California Automobile Museum on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29, 2017) for the 8th Annual Vettes & Vets and American Muscle Car Show sponsored by Performance Chevrolet.

The popular annual event celebrates America’s love for the automobile while honoring our country’s brave veterans and active duty military. All car owners and enthusiasts are encouraged to enter their vehicles – especially Corvettes, American “muscle cars” and military vehicles – in the show that takes place in a parking lot behind the Museum. At noon, the amazing cars on display will be judged in a variety of categories including a best-in-division award for each generation of Corvette.   

In addition to the eye-catching automobiles, attendees will be treated to a DJ spinning some classic summer tunes, military color guard and national anthem along with a barbecue lunch available for purchase.

This is a two person show featuring both award winning artists.

Midtown Association proudly presents “Midtown Love” celebration on 5/18!

The Midtown Association is proud to present a very special “Midtown Love” celebration on Thursday evening, May 18, 2017, from 6 to 9 p.m.  Designed to celebrate Midtown’s unique and eclectic vibe, the spirited indoor/outdoor event will take place at Faces Nightclub (2000 K Street) as well as an adjacent “activated” alleyway.

Complete with drag queens browsing about, the one-of-a-kind celebration will be highlighted by an iconic and lively lip sync battle featuring local individuals as they participate in a fierce but friendly competition sure to entertain and delight the audience. The event will also offer an incredible night of dancing and a visually-enticing “Wall of Boom,” a perfect backdrop for memorable photos.  Event guests will also have a chance to mix, mingle and network with many of Midtown’s key influencers, business owners and involved community members while experiencing the flavor of Midtown.
