Tunes for Trees - Great Music & Family Fun!

Get ready for some terrific music for a great cause!

It's all happening at the 3rd annual "Tunes for Trees" benefit concert for the Woodland Tree Foundation. This year's concert features local musical legends Red Rose Ranch Band and the Hey Nows! as well food, drinks, and a silent auction for a chance to take home local goodies.

The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th at the historic Gibson House Museum located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland. Live music and dancing will continue until 9:00 p.m.

Purchase your $15.00 tickets online at www.woodlandtree.org or at the door!

Funds raised by "Tunes for Trees" will help support the planting and care of trees in and around the Woodland area.

Supermoon in El Dorado County

SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA - This was shot in El Dorado County California at 8:15 p.m. 5.5.12 on the Ponderosa Road overcrossing at HWY 50 (near the recent meteor explosion and meteorite dusting back on April 22, 2012).

Hoped to get it coming up over the Sierra, but it was sneaky and came up further south and higher in the sky than I wanted it to be, but still pretty. Little instant tail gate party going on with all the area folks hanging out on the overcrossing waiting for it to show up.

Southport Levee Presentation

Southport Levee Presentation

West Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (WSAFCA) has completed analyses needed to compare project alternatives that would correct known deficiencies in the six-mile stretch of the Southport Sacramento River levee and will recommend a preferred alternative to the WSAFCA Board of Directors on Thursday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the WS City Hall Council Chambers. With an identified preferred alternative, additional analysis will be specifically focused on detailing the effects of the alternative on private property, the environment and community, and determining how best to minimize and mitigate those impacts.
