West Sacramento man gets 830 years to life for sex abuse

District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced Monday that Yolo County Superior Court Judge Stephen Mock sentenced 44-year-old Bennie Dale Moses of West Sacramento to 830 years to life in state prison.

On March 10, 2011, a Yolo County jury convicted Moses of 62 counts of sex and oral copulation with a child. Moses had been forcing the girl to have sex with him beginning in 2000, when she was 12 years old. The sexual abuse continued until July 11, 2009 when the she confided in a friend that Moses had been having sex with her for nine years. That friend called 9-1-1. The investigation revealed that when Moses was a teenager he had also forced a number of elementary school girls to have sex with him.

At a court trial held in March, Mock ruled that Moses had previously been convicted of 12 separate "strike" offenses.
