Play & Learn Workshops at the Winters Community Library in March

The Winters Community Library, a branch of the Yolo County Library system, located at 708 Railroad Avenue in Winters, will host a four-part parenting workshop for the parents and caregivers of children ages 1 to 4 in March. The series will be held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday in March (March 6, 13, 20 and 27).

During the series, toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers will have the opportunity to play together with developmentally appropriate toys, learn together with an early childhood specialist, and get to know other parents in the community with like-aged children.  Dramatic play, music and art, gross and fine motor skills, as well as books and puppet play will be incorporated into the series.  Presenters will include a pediatrician, an occupational therapist, a child psychologist and a nutritionist.

“The library is pleased to be able to support and encourage parents to be their child’s first and most important teacher,” said Yolo County Librarian Patty Wong.

This series is sponsored by First 5 Yolo, Family Place Libraries and the Yolo County Library.  The workshop is free, however, registration is required and space is limited.  A Spanish interpreter will be present to help Spanish-speaking families communicate with the presenters.  For more information or to register, please contact Winters Community Library at (530) 795-4955.
