SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Corinthian Colleges will shut down all of its remaining 28 ground campuses, displacing about 16,000 students.

The announcement comes less than two weeks after the U.S. Department of Education announced it was fining the for-profit institution $30 million for misrepresentation.

Railroad Museum Calls Out for Volunteers in 2015!

Fascinated by railroading history? Interested in working on a train? Enjoy working with visitors, children and school groups? California State Parks, the California State Railroad Museum and Old Sacramento State Historic Park (SHP) are now recruiting adults (18 or older) who are interested in volunteering to help communicate the West’s fascinating heritage of railroading and the California Gold Rush.  For those interested but want to find out more information, a special, drop-in Volunteer Open House is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Stanford Gallery located at 111 I Street in Old Sacramento State Historic Park.  Volunteer applications are being accepted now through January 30, 2015.  After an evaluation and interview process, volunteer training will begin on February 9, 2015.

Looking for an interactive, engaging and fun part-time job in 2015? The Historic Old Sacramento Foundation (HOSF) is currently accepting applications for paid tour guide positions for its popular Old Sacramento Underground tour program that will resume on April 4, 2015.    

HOSF is looking to fill a minimum of four paid tour guide positions to staff the coveted Old Sacramento Underground tour program, which will start its sixth consecutive season in 2015.  The underground tour program takes visitors into the city’s underground and hollow sidewalk areas created when the streets were raised in the 1860s and 1870s due to devastating floods.
