Yolo County takes the gold in State Fair exhibit competition

YOLO COUNTY - This year, Yolo County took home the Gold Medal for its California State Fair booth in the counties’ exhibit competition with the theme: “This is How We Roll in Yolo,” a press release announced Tuesday. Out of the 29 participating counties, Yolo County’s unique exhibit impressed the judges with its celebration of the many roads, bike trails, famers markets, wineries, and sports and leisure activity available in Yolo County.

This year’s display was made possible thanks to generous donations from: the Yolo County Farm Bureau; Supervisor Duane Chamberlain; River Cats Baseball; Cache Creek Casino; Whitewater Adventures; the cities of Davis, West Sacramento, Winters and Woodland; YoloArts; and the Yolo County Visitors Bureau.

“We are grateful to our generous donors who have allowed us to be represented at this year’s California State Fair and to bring home the gold!” said Yolo County Board of Supervisors Chair Matt Rexroad.  “The State Fair provides the perfect opportunity to highlight what makes Yolo County unique.  We hope everyone who visits the California State Fair will venture over to explore Yolo County on our paved bike paths, via scenic byways, aboard the Sacramento River Train, on the rapids of the Cache Creek, or skydiving from the clouds.  Visit Yolo County – you’ll love it here!”
