Post holiday recycling

With Christmas over, you may be wondering what to do with last year’s Christmas tree.  City spokesman Art Schroeder says in West Sacramento, Christmas trees can be recycled curbside by cutting them into sections small enough to fit in your yard waste cart.

Schroeder says, "Place the pieces in your yard waste cart or place them next to your yard waste cart and they will be collected on your regular service day…You should remove all tinsel, lights, ornaments, flocking and stands.

You can also take your tree to the Yolo County Central Landfill, located at 44090 County Rd 28H for free drop-off.  Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.  For information, call (530) 666-8729.
